The focus of fellowship ministry is to create community and bring people together for food and fun. Some of our events include the annual church picnic at Wales Community Park, monthly Euchre Nights in members’ homes, group outings to the Fireside Theatre, mid-week suppers during Lent, Family Game Night and Apple Fest. New for fall 2014 is $5 Tuesday movies at the Hillside Theater in Delafield.
Family Game Night
Usually held in February during the winter doldrums, these game nights have proven to be great fun, with people of all ages joining together in a variety of board/table games. A light supper and snacks are provided. Bring your own games, or join in with others. Don’t have kids at home? Come and play games with those of us who do. This is an inter-generational event and a great way to introduce people to our All Saints family. All ages are welcome. Invite your friends and neighbors!
From September through May we gather one Friday night each month to play Euchre, enjoy great snacks and share lots of laughter. The site changes each month as couples take turns serving as hosts; each participant brings a snack to share and their choice of beverage. Don’t know how to play? We’ll teach you. Don’t have a partner? Not a problem. The food will be great – the fellowship even better! Friends are welcome to join us.
$5 Tuesday movies
New in Fall 2014! Marcus Theaters offers $5 movies, with free popcorn, on Tuesdays. Meet us at the Hillside Theater in Delafield on the second Tuesday of the month to see an early afternoon movie. Check our weekly publications, The Scoop and News & Notes, for details on movie title and time of showing.
Apple Fest is an annual event that brings people together for food, fun and fellowship. At the same time, it serves as a ministry fundraising event. Apple Fest includes a sit down meal, a Silent Auction, games for kids, a bake sale and musical entertainment. New for 2014 will be a book sale. Proceeds from the 2014 Apple Fest will benefit the Sophal Project which supports children in an orphanage in Cambodia.
Annual Worship & Picnic in Wales Park
An All Saints tradition, usually held on the last Sunday in July, the church picnic is a time for lots of food, fun and fellowship at the pavilion in Wales Community Park. The meal follows an informal worship service at the park at 10:00 am. All are welcome!
Sunday Morning Fellowship Time
What is better than donuts and fair trade coffee after worship on a Sunday morning? During the school year we gather between services in the Family Life Center (aka the gym) for conversation over coffee. In the summer months, treats are served in the narthex after worship. We serve fair trade Mt. Meru coffee from Tanzania. The Meru Diocese is one of our ministry partnerships.
Strolling Carolers at Christmas in Wales
Christmas in Wales in an annual event in early December, sponsored by the Wales Business Association. All Saints gathers a group of carolers who stroll around the village while singing Christmas carols and songs. Not only fun, it is a way to make ourselves known in the community as we share some Christmas cheer.
MUGS (Men United for Grub and Scripture) breakfasts are for all men of All Saints and their friends. We usually meet on the first Saturday of the month at 7:30 am in the Gathering Room, from September through May. Our guys take turns cooking breakfast which is followed by some type of group discussion. Sign up on the kiosk in the narthex or call the church office at 968-3322. During Fall 2014 we will continue to look at different world religions and how they compare to Christianity.
Fireside Theater Outings
The Fireside Theatre is a treasure in southeastern Wisconsin. Several times a year we enjoy a group outing for dinner at 3:00 pm followed by the show at 5:00 pm. This is an adults only event, but friends are welcome to join us.
