Scholarship Program For Secondary Students

BECAUSE OF YOUR SUPPORT:

  • Most Songoro youth now attend Secondary School. Tanzanian average is only 25%.
  • Songoro youth that leave their family farms are better prepared for life in the city.
  • The standard of living has improved in Songoro.
  • Congregational giving has increased at Songoro Lutheran Parish.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  • $70 will keep a student in a state operated school for one year.
  • $300 will keep a student in a private boarding school for one year.

Graduates of private schools are more likely to go on to college or find meaningful employment

ENVELOPES ARE AVAILABLE IN THE PEWS:

  • Farm families with annual family incomes of $400 are not able to pay the fees needed to keep their children in school.
  • Higher education of meaningful employment are more likely with private secondary school educations.
  • Any size contribution is appreciated. Scholarship committee in Tanzania distributes the scholarships by merit and need.

Scholarship Program for Higher Education

BECAUSE OF YOUR SUPPORT:

  • Patrons from All Saints have assisted 9 Songoro college students with their education.
  • Only .33% of Tanzanian citizens have college degrees (335 per 100,000).

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

  • Several potential students have applied for assistance
  • Typical costs are $2500 – $3500 per year for 3-4 year programs.
